Sathees Babu

IDIP Candidate

I would like to thank NIST Management Directors (Mr. Antony, Ms. Priscilla), trainers (Ms. Jayanthi, Mr. Charles, Mr. Kalyan) and NIST employees (Ms. Jhancy, Ms. Shyamala, Ms. Revathi) for transforming me as a competent safety professional ever since I started my safety career in 2008.

Basically, I possess a diploma in Mechanical Engineering. I decided to pursue safety course due to ample job opportunities in safety domain across the world. After thorough market inquest, I joined NIST institute in the year 2008 to pursue IOSH (Managing Safely) course. During the course of training, I was effectively coached and guided by my trainers on international safety practices and standards. As a result of this training, I successfully completed the IOSH course. Subsequently I took up NEBOSH IGC in the year 2011 and accomplished the course certificate with decent grades in the very first attempt. After completion of my NEBOSH IGC, I joined as a safety officer in QATAR SHELL GTL (QSGTL) for Saudi Aramco project (onshore and offshore).

Recently, I have completed NEBOSH IDIP from NIST institute. While pursuing this course, I was working at Qatar and Kuwait. NIST provided me a splendid learning experience even though I was located overseas, far from the institute. The entire course training was imparted by expert trainers through online webinars and telephonic consultations. Moreover, the study materials provided by the NIST was extremely useful and it incorporated video links, PDF documents, different aspects of safety standards such as Governmental and Non-governmental code of practices, which helped me to accomplish my IDIP with ease. Overall, it was an excellent learning journey and value-adding experience.

It would be inappropriate, if I fail to mention the support and guidance of my trainers and the support staff of NIST. Whenever I approached with queries, the trainers showed me the way ahead without any hesitation. The administrative staffs of NIST provided heartfelt support in document related issues that helped me to submit the IDIP project without any hassle.

Over the past 10 years, my competence level in safety domain has been significantly improved through the academic knowledge gained through NIST. Being a first batch student, amazing learning experience gained from NIST will always be cherished by me throughout my life. My hearty wishes to NIST for consistently producing competent safety professionals and would like to pray to God for continued success in all their future endeavors.
